Google launches own Browser Project - Google Chrome
Posted by: Fritz Thomas In: Overall
Google now confirmed that they are working on their own browser, called Google Chrome based on Webkit That wasn’t really new, because an employee sent “accidentally” an email with an internal comic of the new google browser to a blogger. The official statement on this was posted on the official google blog.
Some conecepts really looking interesting. One of these is that google chrome should be multi threaded and multi processed. So it is impossible that one tab crashes the whole browser process.
One other convenient thing for google is that they can test their new browser to millions of millions web pages and then can give immidiately feedback to their developers before they launch a new version.
They did not say that they will compete Browsers like Firefox or Safari, but they hope they can profit from each others development. One thing which is interesting is that Google is supporting the Mozilla Foundation on Firefox Development. This is going to be interesting.
Take a look at the whole google chrome comic
